Hello there.
My name is Darayus Sethna, and I am an E.W. Scripps School of Journalism student at Ohio University. I am also part of the Honors Tutorial College (HTC). I am working towards a career in sports journalism, media, or communications.
I primarily work as a multimedia sports reporter at WOUB Public Media in Athens. I’ve produced multiple stories and have been an anchor on the station’s student-run newscast, NewsWatch. My very first opportunity at Ohio University was as the Bobcats field hockey beat reporter for The Post – an independent news outlet on the school’s campus.
My work in HTC has mirrored much of what I hope to accomplish in the journalism industry. In previous tutorials, I’ve published audio stories, essays, and even created my own documentary.
An interview with Theodore Roosevelt High School football head coach Kardell Jackson in Kent, Ohio (July 2024).
One of the goals of this website is to demonstrate my growth in a variety of skillsets – from basic reporting and interviewing to website design.
The origins of this website stem from my previous work covering Ohio Bobcats sports. Along with covering games, I've also produced feature stories on athletes and coaches. Through these stories, I've seen how much individuals take pride in representing not only themselves – but the entire O.U. community.
You can watch a few of the past features I've made below to get a better idea:
I loved having the opportunity to explore Ohio University’s rich sports history. I hope you had as much fun viewing the website as I did creating it!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Darayus Sethna, HTC Class of 2025
